On this late May, it is about 3:00 PM local time. The Sun has just pass the meridian and is at 63 degrees of elevation. The low presure aera which is coming is preceded by a cirrus veil. In a sky partially filled with cumulus, a 22 degrees halo is easily visible. However, its outlines are fuzzy and its colors weak.
In fact, it seems that it is the result of a mix between a circumscribed halo and a 22 degrees halo. At the Sun elevation (see this sketch), those two halos are roughly superimpose, whence a fuzzy effect. We will see in the following picture how the circumscribed halo split up from the 22 degrees halo as the Sun rise in the sky.
