Laurent Laveder is a professional photographer with a degree in physical sciences. He lives in Southern Finistère, Brittany. An amateur astronomer since his teenage years, he specializes in panoramic photography of the sky, which offers an astronomical background above a terrestrial foreground. In his endeavour to capture the most magnificent celestial spectacles, he treks across Brittany in search of Breton foregrounds to illuminate his photos.
With his wife Sabine Sannier, they have created a photo series that is famous worldwide: The "Moon games" in which a character, usually Sabine seems to interact with the Moon. At the end of 2010, they have edited a book called "Quartier libre". They have already sold more than 1000 copies.
He is a member of the international initiative The World At Night (www.twanight.org) which gathers 35 of the world’s best nightscape astrophotographers. He has received many awards in national and international photo competitions.
