Today, I have decided to wake up very early to try to capture the zodiacal light. At 5 AM, I open my eyes under fog. I'll try to be over that fog by driving to a higher place, near a chapel in Briec town.
Arriving at 5:30 AM, the fog is deeper! No miracle near this chapel... I decide to go higher, in the Monts d'Arrée, about 20 km from here.
Passing Braspart, the fog disappear and I discover a very nice sky when I arrived atop the Saint Michel mountain over the Brennilis lake. The zodiacal light is visible, pale, crossing the constellation of Leo and extending to the Cancer.
I hurry myself, because in a few minutes, the night will end. I just have enough time to make a few shots, but the horizon get orange.
With the three first pictures, I made an animation showing the zodiacal light rising:
- in Flash format (87 ko)
- in GIF format (146 ko) |
