Etretat is a charming little village, Its white cliff made of chalk are unique, presenting a natural arch. Alas, the place is powerfully illuminated. For who? Almost nobody, because excpet its sleeping inhabitants, nobody can see them. With such a light polluted sky, hard to reveal the stars.
To realize this picture, I had to bracket, i.e. making different exposure time to record the stars (long exposure time, 4 s) and the cliffs (short one, 1 s), then stitch the photo in a single picture. From left to right, Canis Major, Orion and Taurus (with the Pleiades in the upper right corner). |
