Tonight: partial lunar eclipse |
09/07/2006 08:53:27 |
Tonight, the Full Moon will be partially immersed in the shadow cone of Earth. From its rising (around 18:30 TU in France), its upper left disk will be obliterated. The maximum will occur at 18:50. Don't miss this rare chance to see the Moon amputated near the horizon. Click here for more |

The '06 Perseids meteors |
08/19/2006 11:57:30 |
One week ago, I was out, in the dunes of Treguennec, trying to capture some Perseids meteors. Very few meteors, but some really nice pictures, because a bright Moon illuminated the white sand, while the sky remained dark, revealing many stars, but very few shooting ones! Click here for more |

HDR in Photoshop CS2 for sundog |
04/22/2006 14:48:16 |
Catch correctly a sundog is hard, because it need a short time exposure. Then, the landscape is generally too dark. To avoid this fault, I used the High Dynamic Range (HDR) function under Photoshop CS2. It allows to merge many pictures with diffrents exposure times (bracketing) in order to realize a well exposed snap in the otherwise under-exposed and overexposed parts of a single snap. The link below illustrate this function. Click here for more |
