Green and blue flashes |
04/09/2006 20:29:33 |
Frinday, on the evening, the sky was particularly clear in Southern Finistère. I decided to go back to the beach to try to capture the sunspots
I have j'avais photograph the day before. I can't succeed, because the Sun was to bright. But I had the chance to see a rare phenomenon: green and blue flashes! to see the pictures, click on the link below. Click here for more |

Schwassmann-Wachmann lost its head |
04/07/2006 13:43:48 |
The comete Schwassmann-Wachmann is composed by multiple frgments. Today, there are 40 chunks.
The smaller, less than 50 m in diameter, are just visible by big telescopes (magnitude 18 to 22). But the bigger fragments (B and C) are about 10th magnitude, which is visible through modest instruments.
On May 12th, 2006, that cometary train will be closer to Earth. The two brighter fragments could be about magnitude 4 and 6 (respectively for C and B) and fainter than magnitude 10 for the others... if the prevision are good, which is rare.
Click on the link below to see what looks that odd train of frozen chunks. Click here for more |

The day has turned night |
04/04/2006 16:20:12 |
Last March 29, I had the luck to be in Side, Turkey, to observe a total Sun eclipse. Those who have ever seen a total solar eclipse know how incredible are those moments when day turns night. For the others, try to see one! The next good total eclipse of the Sun will be in North America in 2017... That seems far away, but my last visible total eclipse was in 1991, more than 15 years ago. And that lets you time to save money for this trip. Click here for more |

Rock on Itokawa |

The Japanese space probe Hayabusa (ex Muses-C) currently revolving around the asteroid Itokawa, send to Earth beautiful images. This one shows a tiny world (600 m by 300 m wide) covered with large boulders. Click here for more |

Pluton feels less lonely |
11/01/2005 23:19:18 |
Observing Pluto (the "9th planet" in the solar system) using the Hubble Space Telescope, the astronomers would have discovered that it would not have just one moon (Charon), but three!
The two tiny moons would be between 60 and 200 km wide, and are about three times farther than Pluto that Charon is. Click here for more |

Kitao.tk: Pierre-Paul Feyte's Website |
10/31/2005 17:30:38 |
Do you know Kitao.tk? It is one of my preferred sites! The photographs which are there are great. More, the texts which accompany them are very rich in technical informations or sometimes plunge you in the heart of a storm hunting. So, I can't help recommending you this great site from a sky and meteorology specialist (which has the chance to live in an area rich in violent storms). Click here for more |

Lolo's Blog: Let's go! |
10/31/2005 16:20:59 |
The updates of the site are irregular, because of the weather and the relative scarcity of celestial events being worth to be photographed, I decide to launch a new heading: Lolo’s Blog. In this heading, you’ll find things about this site, my favorites documents, subjects about digital photography, space news and things to observe. I will update this heading regularly, as I discover interresting stuff in the Web. |
